Senior Engineer (Cloud / D-Fend)

D-Fend Solutions, now part of Motorola Solutions, is a global leader in cyber-takeover counter-drone technology. Their Krakow MSI engineering center is collaborating with the D-Fend group to drive a technological transformation by moving a critical configuration application to the Cloud, assembling a highly agile team to deliver impactful and innovative cloud-based solutions.

• At least 5 years of backend engineering experience.
• Expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, with frameworks like NestJS and Express.
• Strong experience building event-driven microservices on major cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with modern Cloud Observability patterns, including metrics, distributed tracing, and structured logging.
• Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL), in-memory caching (Redis), and containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Practical experience or strong willingness to work with React for frontend development.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools: Terraform, AWS CDK, or Serverless Framework.
• Experience using Generative AI tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor.
• Knowledge of security architectures, specifically Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and mutual TLS (mTLS).
• Experience handling time-series telemetry pipelines and storage tiering.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, and Datadog.

• Drive the Cloud Transition: Build and run multi-tenant SaaS applications utilizing cloud-native architecture.
• Build Distributed Systems: Implement complex, high-throughput backend services and distributed systems ensuring seamless data flow across Cloud, On-Premise, and Edge layers.
• Write sharp, scalable, maintainable Node.js/TypeScript backend code, including using frameworks like NestJS and Express.
• Take full end-to-end ownership of features, from design and backend development to automated deployment and production monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with senior peers across MSI and D-Fend to leverage expertise, unblock technical challenges, and deliver results rapidly.
• Occasionally work on frontend features using React to deliver complete end-to-end solutions.

• Experience treating infrastructure as code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or Serverless Framework.
• Experience using GenAI development-assisting tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor.
