Senior Software Engineer (C++/Rust)

N-able develops the Cove Data Protection product, a cloud-first backup solution used by managed service providers and enterprise IT organizations worldwide. The company offers an end-to-end cyber resilience platform with AI-powered capabilities, third-party integrations, and focuses on cybersecurity and data protection.

• Strong professional experience developing software in C++
• Interest and willingness to learn and work extensively with Rust
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and modern development practices
• Experience designing scalable, maintainable, and high-performance applications
• Knowledge of design principles including SOLID and test-driven development
• Experience with distributed systems, microservices, or cloud-native applications
• Experience with automated testing (unit, integration, end-to-end)
• Understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and security fundamentals
• Experience working with relational databases and data persistence technologies
• Familiarity with REST APIs and modern service-oriented architectures
• Experience with containerized environments and cloud platforms is a plus
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills

Nice to Have:

• Previous experience with Rust
• Experience with Kubernetes and Amazon AWS
• Experience building highly available, large-scale distributed systems
• Background in backup, disaster recovery, storage, or data protection technologies
