Embedded Firmware Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronics, Automatic Control, Telecommunications, or related technical fields.
• Commercial experience with firmware development for microcontrollers, bare metal or under an RTOS, on real hardware.
• Practical knowledge of C++14 or newer, including the standard library.
• Knowledge of real-time operating systems including tasks, scheduling, synchronization primitives, interrupt handling, stack and priority assignment.
• Proficiency in Python for test and bench tooling.
• Understanding of microcontroller peripherals and data buses such as SPI, I2C, UART, and CAN.
• Skills in debugging real hardware using JTAG debuggers, logic analyzers, oscilloscope.
• Experience with build systems and version control tools like CMake and Git.
• Ability to write unit tests for embedded code.
• English proficiency sufficient to read documentation and standards, write technical documents, and participate in technical discussions.
• Availability to work from Gliwice office every Tuesday.

Nice to have:

• Experience with low-level work on 32-bit microcontroller architectures including startup code, linker scripts, interrupt controllers, MPU, and cache handling.
• Familiarity with ECSS, CCSDS, or other space industry or functional safety standards.
• Experience with bootloaders, firmware update mechanisms, and image integrity checking.
• Knowledge of Conan or another C++ package manager and Jenkins or other CI systems.
• Experience with target emulation like QEMU or hardware-in-the-loop test setups.
• Familiarity with static analysis and coding standards such as MISRA applied in real projects.

• Develop flight software for on-board data processing units using modern C++ under a real-time operating system.
• Implement and maintain device drivers and hardware abstraction layers for serial interfaces, memories, and sensors.
• Implement on-board services such as telemetry acquisition, time keeping, persistent storage, and fault handling.
• Develop communication stacks and interfaces between the processing unit and the satellite platform.
• Write unit tests and execute them on host and emulated targets.
• Develop and maintain Python tooling for firmware configuration, flashing, and testing.
• Manage builds using CMake and Conan and maintain CI pipelines.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and verification activities with teams.
• Prepare and maintain software design documentation and test evidence.

Availability to work from Gliwice office every Tuesday is required.
