Principal Software Engineer – Avid Content Core

Avid creates technology and collaborative tools for creators in entertainment, media, and education sectors, supporting feature films, TV programs, news, sports events, music recording, and live concerts.

Minimum Requirements:

• 8–10+ years of experience in backend software development, including senior or lead roles.
• Proficiency in Java and Go, with advanced features and best practices.
• Strong understanding of object-oriented design.
• Extensive experience with frameworks like Spring and Hibernate.
• Proficiency in managing relational and NoSQL databases.
• Strong experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Experience with microservice architecture.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Docker containers.

Preferred Experience:

• Ability to use NodeJs and C#.
• Experience with messaging systems: Kafka, SQS, RabbitMQ.
• Experience with observability and container orchestration.
• Knowledge of audio/video asset management.
• Experience with cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and Google Cloud.
• Red Hat Linux system administration.

• Participate in SCRUM-driven software engineering processes.
• Build high performance, scalable APIs.
• Collaborate with product management to identify and decompose requirements.
• Ensure high quality deliverables for Avid Content Core services.
• Maintain Avid MediaCentral core platform infrastructure services and toolkits.
• Develop cloud-native backend applications.
• Work in all phases of the software development lifecycle.
• Participate actively in architecture and design discussions.
• Provide support through code reviews, training, and mentoring.
• Communicate and coordinate with worldwide engineering teams in Germany, USA, Canada, Poland, and India.

This is a fully remote position based in Poland. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are required to collaborate effectively with international teams.
