Senior ETF Research Analyst, State Street Investment Management, Assistant Vice President

State Street is one of the largest custodian banks, asset managers and asset intelligence companies in the world, providing investment servicing, data & analytics, investment research & trading and investment management to institutional clients. The role is part of the Global ETF Research team within State Street Investment Management, a major asset manager with over four decades of experience and trillions of dollars in assets under management.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• More than 5 years of experience in financial institutions or finance-specific industries
• Strong written and spoken English skills
• Good numerical and analytical abilities
• Ability to prioritize workload and meet tight deadlines
• Initiative, flexibility, and creative problem-solving skills
• Absolute attention to detail and high accuracy under pressure
• Desire to develop understanding of global ETF landscape and State Street's ETF business
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; computer literacy essential
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to oversee and develop less experienced team members
• Team player with a helpful and self-motivated mindset
• Enthusiastic and self-reliant

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of tools such as Bloomberg, Morningstar, FactSet
• Previous ETF experience
• Commitment to further study and qualifications (preferably CFA or studying for CFA designation)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel VBA and programming
• Awareness of investment risks and market/economic issues

Competitive Analysis:

• Produce Morningstar Side by Side comparisons
• Build investment cases for clients to use SPDR ETFs versus other exposures
• Produce universe comparisons vs competition including ETFs and active funds

Returning Based Data and Analytics:

• Produce return based reports
• Provide datasets such as holdings, return streams, fundamental characteristics, and ad hoc client requests

Portfolio Analysis:

• Produce Portfolio Insights and Analysis reports detailing client portfolio construction, areas of weakness, and potential risks

Thought Leadership and Ad Hoc Projects:

• Provide thought leadership content including analysis, white papers, commentary, and data-oriented requests
• Build automated data feeds for monthly and quarterly updates (e.g., index comparisons, standard presentations)
• Perform ad hoc projects to support business goals

SME Support for RFPs/DDQs:

• Complete RFPs and DDQs for US SPDR ETFs
• Coordinate with stakeholders such as Portfolio Managers, Treasury, Legal, Compliance to obtain required information

This role is hybrid and requires 3 days of office presence each week in Krakow, Poland.
