Full Stack Senior Drupal Developer

An established, US-based national listing platform in the commercial real estate space. The site currently runs on Drupal 8 (end-of-life) and receives the majority of its traffic from organic search.

• Expert knowledge and experience with Drupal (8 and 10/11), including custom module and theme development
• Proficient in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Twig templating
• Strong skills with composer and drush tools
• In-depth understanding of technical SEO best practices
• Experience working with REST API
• Fluent English communication skills (both speaking and writing)

Part 1 — Drupal Upgrade:

• Perform a full audit of the current Drupal 8 site including contributed modules, custom code, theme, and content model
• Provide a written upgrade-path recommendation (sequential core upgrades vs. content migration to a fresh Drupal 10/11 build) before starting work
• Refactor custom modules and themes for Drupal 10/11 compatibility
• Ensure SEO preservation: maintain or 301-redirect URL patterns, preserve metadata and structured data, sitemap continuity, and no indexability regressions
• Set up a staging environment with full content copy and conduct an upgrade dry run before production cutover

Part 2 — Platform Feature Build (on Drupal 10/11):

• Develop custom content types for listings and member profiles
• Implement role-based access for multiple user types including free and paid tiers
• Build search and filtering with an interactive map using Views, Search API, and Google Maps or Mapbox
• Integrate recurring subscription billing via Stripe
• Develop flows for listing creation, editing, and lifecycle management
• Create member dashboards, saved searches, email alerts, and favorites
• Implement registration, login, and profile management
• Apply standard hardening practices such as rate limiting, input sanitization, SSL, and GDPR compliance
