Embedded Linux Engineer

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronics, Automatic Control, Telecommunications, or related technical field.
• Commercial experience with Linux on custom embedded hardware, building systems from sources tailored to specific boards.
• Practical knowledge of Yocto: layers, recipes, bbappends, machine and distro configuration, and build debugging.
• Proficiency in C or C++ applied to userspace components, drivers, and kernel.
• Experience with Python for writing integration tests.
• Experience with CI systems for automated builds and tests.
• Understanding of the embedded Linux boot chain: bootloader, device tree, kernel, init system.
• English proficiency sufficient to read documentation, write technical docs, and discuss with customers.
• Availability to work on-site in Gliwice office every Tuesday.

Nice to have:

• Experience with SoC platforms combining application cores and programmable logic, including vendor-provided Yocto layers.
• Familiarity with build orchestration tools for Yocto such as kas.
• Kernel development experience including driver development, device tree bindings, and kernel panic debugging.
• Knowledge of ECSS, CCSDS, or other space industry standards.
• Experience with automated tests running on hardware.

• Build and maintain the reference Linux distribution for the on-board data processing units including Yocto layers, machine configurations, distro configuration, and image recipes.
• Integrate platform IP cores into the running system with device trees, overlays, drivers, bootloader configuration, and boot chain management.
• Write and maintain recipes for proprietary applications and services.
• Configure runtime systems including init, networking, filesystem layout, storage, and firmware update paths.
• Maintain build reproducibility in CI and keep layers updated against upstream releases.
• Write integration tests in Python for images and services.
• Collaborate with electronics and FPGA teams to bring up new hardware revisions.
• Prepare and maintain build, configuration, and integration documentation.
