Senior Site Reliability Engineer

Allegro is a company operating at a large scale with over 1000 microservices, an open-source data bus (Hermes), and a Service Mesh. The team uses a modern internal ecosystem including Kubernetes, Docker, Consul, GitHub, and GitHub Actions. They focus on automation, reliability, and have an internal culture of knowledge sharing and tech community engagement.

• Solid engineering background with deep understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language for infrastructure automation or backend services (Kotlin, Java, Python, or Go).
• Hands-on advanced experience managing containerized environments and orchestration tools, specifically Kubernetes and Docker, including networking and service mesh concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Chaos Engineering practices and performance testing frameworks (knowledge of Gatling or similar is a plus).
• Deep experience configuring monitoring and observability stacks such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK.
• Proven ability to identify single points of failure and act as Incident Commander.
• Strong practical knowledge of building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and managing infrastructure using IaC tools.
• Strong ownership mindset, mentoring skills, and ability to set code quality and architectural standards.

• Lead and coordinate team-level projects to improve system reliability.
• Design and implement complex reliability solutions and internal platforms.
• Design and build an AI agent to enhance incident response workflow.
• Act as a senior Incident Commander during major outages and lead blameless post-mortems.
• Develop and scale self-service performance testing platforms using distributed load tests with real-time observability.
• Build automated resiliency platforms for continuous fault injection.
• Drive quarterly full Data Center failover experiments.
• Own the reliability of systems, manage technical debt, and automate infrastructure.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and set code quality standards.
• Influence team communication and decision-making on difficult system architecture problems.
