Business Analyst (CBAP + UML/BPMN) (EU Public)

Frontex, the European Border and Coast Guard Agency, supports border control at land, air and sea borders by reinforcing, assessing and coordinating actions at the external borders of the EU and fighting cross-border crime. Frontex deploys specialised border guards and technical equipment to EU countries with increased migratory pressure. The role involves contributing to the application of EU law related to the establishment and operations of the Standing Corps by developing legal solutions in cooperation with internal and external partners.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant IT professional experience
• Minimum 5 years of project experience in a similar role
• Higher vocational education (minimum Bachelor's degree)
• Holds at least two certifications among Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), Certified UML Professional (foundation level), or BPM 2 fundamental level
• Completed at least one full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
• Knowledge of business processes modelling using BPMN
• Experience in requirements elicitation, analysis, and user story definition
• Knowledge of analysis and modelling notations such as UML (capability diagrams, activity diagrams, state diagrams, logical data models)
• Proficiency in modelling tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, ARIS Architect or equivalents
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Ability to create and maintain analytical and project documentation
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Advanced knowledge of SharePoint and SharePoint platform-specific tools
• Proven experience in gathering, analyzing, and prioritizing business needs, requirements, and user stories
• Excellent collaboration and stakeholder communication skills
• Versatility in working across different technologies and platforms

• Models and documents value chain/streams, business processes, roles, capabilities and data
• Elicits and analyses business needs, requirements and user stories
• Supports business experts and product owners during definition of requirements and software development
• Maintains and tracks requirements/user stories in systems lifecycle
• Transfers business, users and technical needs into business requirements specification
• Maps business goals, project benefits, priorities, components, system features
• Analyses available systems
• Supports identification of options for potential solutions
• Supports preparation of business cases and feasibility studies
• Contributes to systems design, testing, quality assurance, change management
• Designs, validates, and tests business processes for achieving business process excellence
• Plans and manages programmes for continuous improvements of business processes
• Coaches staff on upcoming changes and plans for skill/process updates
• Collaborates with owners of end-to-end processes to seek process improvements
• Identifies opportunities for business process improvement leading to effectiveness and efficiency gains
• Communicates project objectives, business case, requirements, and scope to stakeholders
• Quantitatively analyses business processes, performing cost-benefit and what-if analysis
