Software Architect

The role involves working with a product platform that connects hardware, software, data, and business operations deployed in hundreds of stores across Europe. The company has transitioned from a startup phase to larger international deployments. The position is based in Wrocław, part of a local team working from the office 2 to 3 days per week.

• Minimum 4-5 years of commercial backend development experience.
• Experience as a Software Architect.
• Proven skills designing distributed, cloud-based, or scalable backend architectures.
• Strong proficiency in Python with practical experience in FastAPI, Django, or Flask.
• Good knowledge of relational and non-relational data stores, especially MySQL and Redis.
• Very good knowledge of MQTT including QoS levels, retained messages, and brokers such as Mosquitto, HiveMQ, or EMQX.
• Solid network engineering knowledge including TCP/IP, routing, load balancing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience designing, building, and maintaining APIs and microservices.
• Practical experience with Docker, Git, and cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong software engineering best practices including automated testing, maintainable code, documentation, and reviews.
• Ability to translate business needs into architecture and implementation decisions.
• Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• English proficiency at minimum B2 level.
• Openness to hybrid work (2-3 days/week in Wrocław office).

• Design, build and improve the backend connecting different devices.
• Build fast and reliable Python services, APIs, and microservices.
• Improve device and service communication; maintain communication tools addressing slow responses, unstable connections, and TCP disconnects.
• Build and maintain integrations between the main platform and customer systems (e.g., car service centers, retail chains).
• Work with MQTT communication, including QoS settings, retained messages, and message-broker configuration.
• Write clean, maintainable code; participate in code reviews and create automated tests.
• Collaborate closely with the Product Owner, Product Designer, and Android Developers.
• Make key technical decisions balancing business needs, system stability, growth, and delivery speed.
• Mentor and support junior engineers technically.
