Staff Engineer

• Previously a Staff or Principal Engineer at a startup company
• 10+ years of experience in Python development
• Previous leadership experience including leading teams and driving large, ambiguously defined projects from concept through delivery
• Strong Python Asyncio experience
• Strong software design skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Deep understanding of Networking Protocols and Operating Systems
• Deep knowledge of Python Profiling
• Experience delivering and troubleshooting production-grade cloud-based distributed systems
• Kubernetes and Helm experience
• Experience with different observability stacks
• Strong LLM prompting skills and ability to work without them
• Experience with gRPC and troubleshooting
• BSc in Software Development or equivalent industry experience

Nice to have:

• Previous experience owning technical responsibilities related to SOC 2 compliance
• Understanding of one of the following: WebRTC, STUN/TURN, SIP, RTP, HLS, RTMP
• Experience with a strongly typed language (Rust, C++, Go, Swift, Java)
• Experience building and troubleshooting real-time low-level systems (e.g., kernel, drivers, RTOS)
• Audio programming experience
• Contributor or maintainer of an open-source package

• Own parts of core backend infrastructure, a complex, real-time distributed system written in Python and Rust
• Own large, complex initiatives end-to-end with minimal guidance
• Take ownership of reducing incident rate
• Solve stability and highly complex production issues
• Own technical responsibilities related to SOC 2 process, including managing responsible personnel
• Constantly improve development velocity while maintaining high reliability standards
