Staff Backend Engineer – Real-time Systems

• 10+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js / TypeScript
• Extensive experience designing and building real-time systems
• Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture
• Experience building low-latency and high-throughput applications
• Strong experience with AWS and cloud-based solutions
• Proven experience designing and operating large-scale production systems
• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps practices and modern software delivery
• Ability to drive technical decisions and influence engineering direction
• Experience mentoring engineers and supporting technical growth within teams

Nice to have:

• Experience with Kafka, streaming platforms or event-driven architectures
• Strong background in performance optimization and system tuning
• Experience with Rust
• Experience designing highly scalable infrastructure and backend platforms

• Leading the design and development of complex backend systems using Node.js / TypeScript
• Defining architecture and technical direction for real-time, distributed systems
• Designing solutions focused on low latency, high throughput and scalability
• Taking ownership of critical backend components from concept through production
• Driving technical decisions around architecture, reliability and performance
• Collaborating with engineering teams to improve development practices and system design
• Mentoring engineers and sharing technical knowledge across the team
• Working with AWS infrastructure and production environments
• Improving CI/CD processes and supporting reliable software delivery
