Senior Backend Product Engineer - Go and/or JVM (all genders)

• Hands-on experience working with AI tooling such as Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot, with practical understanding of AI agents.
• Strong fluency in Go or a JVM language (Java, Kotlin) and experience building distributed production systems.
• Experience with event-driven and asynchronous flows, clear service contracts, and designing for partial failure.
• Proven ability to build, deploy, and operate critical backend services in production.
• Technical comfort with distributed systems, messaging queues, containerization, and modern deployment infrastructure.
• Practical application of design methodologies like TDD, BDD, or DDD with ability to make sensible technical trade-offs.
• Excellent communication skills for effective operation in an international and multi-disciplinary environment.
• Full ownership mindset with a bias to ship and complete development tasks.
• Product sense with the ability to back opinions on what to build with data and user evidence.

• Maintain accountability for architecture, design, development, deployment, and operation of microservices under a full DevOps model.
• Take technical lead on backend-heavy product problems to design, build, and operate scalable services and systems.
• Build event-driven systems using messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS/SNS.
• Expose data via clean REST and gRPC interfaces.
• Work extensively with Docker, container orchestration via Kubernetes, and CI/CD automated deployment pipelines.
• Maintain commitment to testing, executing robust test suites from unit tests through full end-to-end coverage.
• Collaborate within cross-functional agile teams including product leads, frontend engineers, designers, and data teams.
• Provide technical guidance, participate in code and architecture reviews.
• Leverage modern AI tools and workflows (e.g., Claude, Cursor) to increase productivity.
• Operate the systems built by instrumenting, monitoring, and improving them in production.
