(AI-native) Product Engineer

At Zowie, we’re revolutionizing how businesses interact with their customers through AI Agents that handle 100% of customer interactions. The engineering team manages a sophisticated system with over 100 microservices coded mainly in Scala and Java, communicating via gRPC and Kafka, and using databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and Redis. The company focuses on AI-native engineering and has a culture of autonomy and meritocracy.

• Strong coding skills in at least one of Kotlin, Java, Scala, or Python.
• Passion for learning and open to working across multiple languages as appropriate.
• Solid expertise in enhancing engineering workflows with AI developer tools.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Solid system design skills enabling wise choice of technologies and architectures.
• Experience with distributed systems.
• Product acumen, ownership, and focus on value delivered to customers.
• Working proficiency in both English and Polish (spoken and written).

Nice to have:

• Experience with Docker Swarm / Kubernetes.
• Experience with NoSQL databases and GraphQL.
• Experience with Kafka or other message brokers.

• Build and design systems that power AI Agents at scale, focusing on reliability, performance, and change.
• Work across multiple programming languages including Kotlin, Java, Scala, and Python.
• Use AI developer tools to enhance engineering setup, explore designs, scaffold code, generate tests, and document decisions.
• Participate in shaping end-to-end solutions, influence architecture decisions, and propose enhancements to engineering practices.
• Collaborate in planning sessions, standups, code reviews, and retrospectives following Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Maintain solid engineering discipline including clear contracts, readable code, strong test suites, and maintainable architectures.
• Work with microservices communicating synchronously via gRPC and asynchronously via Kafka.
• Use and support databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, ElasticSearch, and Redis.
