Senior Application Platform Engineer

Matrix Eastern Europe, the offshore division of Matrix IT, a global R&D services company with over 11,000 professionals, is hiring for a senior position in a small product engineering team focused on building an enterprise application platform.

• Seven or more years building and operating production software, including experience in a startup or small product team owning delivery end to end.
• Experience designing and shipping a library, SDK, platform service, or internal developer platform consumed by other developers.
• Full stack delivery experience involving modern frontend, backend services, and data stores.
• Production cloud experience, preferably AWS, with serverless and container workloads, infrastructure as code, CI and CD.
• Knowledge of identity and multi-tenancy concepts such as OIDC, session context propagation, tenant isolation, and row-level scoping.
• Experience with FinOps practices including cost control on live cloud or AI workloads with budgets, quotas, alarms, and cost reporting.
• Security awareness covering secrets handling, untrusted input, untrusted generated code, and common web attack surfaces.
• Proficiency using agentic AI across SDLC for building, testing, reviewing, documenting, integrating AI into products, and understanding agent failures.
• Familiarity with MCP servers and tools, managed LLM services, LLM application patterns including prompt design and sandboxing generated code.
• Background in integration platforms, iPaaS, Salesforce, SAP, Jira, or Grafana.
• Hands on work experience within SOC 2 or ISO 27001 scopes.
• Working level English for distributed team communication.

• Own the SDK end to end: client library surface, platform side services, packaging, documentation, and a reference application.
• Build applications on the SDK to validate functionality.
• Build governed applications with environment connectivity, single sign-on, identity context propagation, health, monitoring, metered AI with budgets and usage reporting.
• Deliver diverse application types: AI native data applications, operational tools such as task and workflow management, and integrated dashboards over Jira, Grafana, and Salesforce.
• Own production aspects including deployment pipelines, version stamping, post-deploy smoke tests, automatic rollback, alarms, and cost controls.
• Set and enforce engineering standards, review code, and mentor the second engineer on the team.
