QA Lead

CD PROJEKT RED is a company focused on creating revolutionary, story-driven RPGs. The QA Lead position is for the Cyberpunk 2 project.

• 5+ years experience leading or managing QA teams.
• 5+ years experience with direct performance management and career development.
• Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, bug workflows, defect management, test planning, test coverage, QA practices, and quality reporting.
• Experience with game engines and editors, preferably Unreal Engine.
• Strong understanding of game development lifecycles and ability to develop and execute testing strategies for integration, stress, performance, stability, tools, engine, platform, and technical features.
• Experience working with QA metrics, KPIs, and bug trends.
• Experience with performance analysis, profiling tools, crash analysis, memory investigations, platform-specific testing, or console development environments.
• Experience with Unreal insights, engine profiling, and crash debugging.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with ability to present technical quality status, risks, blockers, priorities, and recommendations.
• Experience creating and maintaining test documentation, test plans, test reports, dashboards, or quality summaries.
• Experience improving QA workflows, reporting models, dashboards, technical metrics, or test management processes.
• Experience working with external QA vendors, distributed QA teams, or cross-location development teams.
• Strong ownership, accountability, emotional maturity, and ability to work effectively under pressure, ambiguity, and changing priorities.
• Strong alignment with RED values and ability to act as a role model in communication, decision-making, collaboration, and leadership.
• Availability to work 10:00 AM–6:00 PM to overlap with the Boston team.

Nice to have:

• Experience working on AAA titles.
• Experience with User Experience Research (UXR), focus groups, usability testing, and gathering player feedback.
• Experience with automation frameworks, automated test authorship, build verification, CI/CD pipelines, or technical validation workflows.
• Interest in the Cyberpunk universe and passion for delivering high-quality player experiences in large-scale RPGs.

• Leading, mentoring, and developing the gameplay QA team while fostering accountability and continuous skill growth.
• Adapting and implementing the Cyberpunk 2 QA strategy into practical testing approaches, measurable outcomes, and clear priorities.
• Owning testing execution and milestone verification to meet gameplay quality standards on time.
• Monitoring gameplay quality metrics, KPIs, and bug trends to identify risks and build mitigation plans.
• Partnering with development, production, and external QA vendors to coordinate dependencies and alignment.
• Maintaining clear, data-informed reporting on quality status, blockers, and project readiness.
• Driving continuous improvements in QA workflows, tools, testing frameworks, documentation, and team effectiveness.
• Providing direct assistance with complex investigations, issue analysis, and debugging workflows when required.

Relocation to Poland is required for those residing abroad. Candidates must demonstrate English proficiency at a minimum C1 level. Availability to work 10:00 AM–6:00 PM is required for overlap with the Boston team.
