Senior Fullstack Engineer (PHP/Symfony + JS/Vue)

OpenNexus creates solutions supporting public organizations and communities to operate more efficiently, transparently, and responsibly. Their mission is to build engaged communities and improve quality of life through responsible management of public funds. The team works based on self-management and organizational "circles." The primary workplace is the "Krąg Zakupowa" circle, developing the flagship product.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience in complex projects or products
• Strong knowledge of PHP and Symfony, with conscious use of design patterns and ability to justify choices
• Proficiency in front-end development with Vue.js and TypeScript, able to independently build and maintain UI layers
• Experience with handling legacy code safely while transitioning to modular architectures without disrupting business
• Product-oriented mindset connecting code with user value, able to explain conscious feature deprioritization decisions
• Knowledge of DDD and bounded contexts to consciously define modules and design integrations
• Conscious use of AI tools in engineering work and promoting their wise use within the team
• Ability to design stable contracts between modules and write code optimized for performance and reliability under production load
• Good knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), including query plan reading and conscious indexing
• Treat tests as part of the completion definition, not as an afterthought

Nice to have:

• Experience in regulated industries such as GovTech or FinTech

• Actively decide on what is built, not just how, including defining scope and proposing solutions during requirements gathering
• Lead key end-to-end changes from hypothesis through technical design, implementation, deployment, monitoring, and analysis
• Refactor critical legacy functionalities into new modular architecture while supporting the existing system
• Design modular monolith architecture, define module boundaries (bounded contexts), and design integrations between them
• Co-create platform conventions and patterns to maintain team technical consistency
• Implement front-end changes as needed using Vue components, ensuring API integration and app consistency
• Raise team quality standards through best practices, code reviews, and a mindful approach to testing
