Senior Ruby on Rails Developer - Freelance - Wrocław/Remote

Monterail is a team of ~130 developers, designers, QAs, and other technology professionals building innovative software every day. They work with clients globally and have experience helping businesses of all sizes develop digital products. The client operates in the luxury travel & hospitality space, managing premium properties across the Mediterranean.

• Solid commercial experience with Ruby on Rails
• Skills in relational database design, including normalization and data integrity
• Basic familiarity with React
• Understanding of CI/CD and containerized environment infrastructure
• Knowledge of secure application design principles

Nice to have:

• Experience with data/system migrations, Pundit, Inertia.js, feature flags
• Knowledge of C#/.NET
• Experience in the travel/hospitality industry or projects with a strong customer-care focus

• Developing back-office features in Rails
• Modeling and designing the PostgreSQL database focusing on security and normalization of premium customer data
• Migrating data and business logic from the legacy system (MS SQL Server) with careful analysis and security
• Building integrations with external systems such as CRM and payment gateways
• Collaborating with PM/PO to reconstruct domain logic from the old system
• Maintaining code quality and security regarding sensitive customer and billing data

Role is based in Wrocław, Poland with 90% remote work and occasional office visits; Wrocław presence is strategically important.
