Software Engineer (Data & AI) – Healthcare

datarabbit.ai is a data and AI partner for healthcare and life sciences organizations, designing and delivering production-grade data and AI systems for medical devices, hospitals, life sciences, and pharma across the EU and US. They build production-grade, compliant, and secure healthcare AI solutions including NLP/LLM documentation automation, frontier imaging models, and cloud-agnostic MLOps platforms with over 20 projects delivered.

• 3+ years of experience in software and ML/AI engineering.
• Problem-solving mindset with ability to engage deeply with clients' business needs.
• Active use of LLMs, AI agents, and frontier AI tooling in daily work.
• Authentic interest in healthcare technology and its impact on patient care.
• Full-stack engineering skills centered on Python and AI, including infrastructure, data pipelines, and cloud.

Nice to have:

• Knowledge of healthcare standards and systems (e.g., HL7/FHIR, DICOM, Nextflow).
• Experience with classical ML, deep learning frameworks, and modern LLM stacks.
• Experience with data engineering and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Prefect).
• Strong cloud skills, preferably AWS, but Azure/GCP also welcome.
• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in CS, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or related.
• Public portfolio or GitHub account.

• Design and implement components of healthcare AI systems, including documentation automation and data extraction from clinical notes.
• Collaborate in short daily sync meetings with project teams and medical advisors.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain production-grade AI models and data pipelines.
• Submit code changes with tests and document reusable components in shared libraries.
• Participate in team knowledge sharing sessions and project updates.
• Take ownership of components and project streams over time, including client communication and architectural decisions.
