Backend Team Lead

The company is building the future of cybersecurity for the AI era. The role is within the Engineering team at CommIT, focusing on driving technical execution, engineering excellence, and delivering scalable, high-quality products.

• 6+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in a technical leadership or Team Lead role.
• Deep hands-on expertise with Node.js (must-have).
• Strong experience with AWS (must-have).
• Experience with React (preferred).
• Experience with Python (advantage).
• Experience working with MongoDB.
• Strong experience designing and building scalable backend systems.
• Proven experience managing technical execution across multiple workstreams.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, scalability, reliability, and clean code principles.
• Experience delivering end-to-end features and projects from design through production.
• Experience working in a fast-paced product environment.
• Strong ownership mindset and ability to make technical decisions independently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience leading or collaborating with global or distributed teams.
• Ability to communicate complex technical decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience participating in customer-facing technical discussions.

Leadership & Sprint Execution:

• Lead the team across multiple workstreams to ensure high-quality delivery every sprint.
• Own prioritization, capacity planning, and alignment on sprint goals.
• Serve as the bridge between your team and others, removing blockers and managing dependencies.
• Coach team members to boost velocity and capabilities through feedback and gap identification.

Technical Excellence & Design:

• Lead the design of scalable, reliable, and maintainable features built to strong engineering standards.
• Stay hands-on in high-scale, cloud-based development using Node.js, AWS, and MongoDB.
• Conduct code reviews and promote best practices in architecture and performance.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to shape features from concept through release.

Customer-Facing & Domain Ownership:

• Participate in technical sessions with customers to address requirements, challenges, and integrations.
• Act as technical lead for your domain, liaising with Customer Success.
• Drive technical decisions on product improvements and new capabilities.
