Senior Software Engineer

The company, CommIT, builds an AI video security platform that understands video content beyond recording. Founded in 2021 and backed by Silicon Valley investors, it is one of the fastest-growing firms in video security with over $64M raised and more than 50k cameras deployed.

• Strong proficiency in at least one of Go, Rust, or TypeScript (ideally two)
• Proven experience with multithreaded and concurrent programming in real parallel systems
• Expertise in performance profiling and optimization for CPU and memory under production load on dedicated hardware
• Experience with Docker and containerization for deploying and managing workloads
• Background in edge computing or embedded systems for resource-constrained environments
• Solid fundamentals in networking and distributed systems to ensure reliable communication between edge and cloud
• Experience with real-time systems design for low-latency delivery

• Contribute to the core edge platform across diverse hardware in a hybrid edge-cloud architecture
• Develop and integrate video management capabilities, including streaming, recording, and real-time AI processing
• Design and optimize low-latency, high-performance workloads at the edge
• Build secure and efficient communication pipelines between edge devices and cloud systems
• Collaborate with AI/ML engineers for on-device model deployment and optimization
• Own performance under load through profiling and fixing CPU/memory bottlenecks
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning
