Sr. Engineering Manager, AI Platform

• 7+ years in software engineering including enterprise-grade SaaS platforms
• 3+ years managing highly technical engineering teams with proven delivery track record
• Expertise in cloud infrastructure and operations, hands-on with public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure), Kubernetes, and distributed systems
• Experience leading distributed teams across multiple timezones, including onsite and remote
• Enthusiasm for agentic AI and AI-assisted software development lifecycles
• Experience translating product priorities into engineering plans and delivering predictably
• Ability to thrive in fast-growing, dynamic, and distributed team environments
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Empathy for customers and teammates with commitment to building high-trust teams

Nice to have:

• Proficiency or recent experience with Golang
• Expertise with Linux systems for production-grade services
• Experience with data streaming platforms, AI/ML infrastructure, databases, or distributed storage at scale
• Experience enabling adoption of AI code generation tools to improve velocity while maintaining quality
• Prior leadership experience in a satellite office or remote hub of a globally distributed company

• Lead and manage a team building services for Redpanda’s Agentic Data Plane
• Own end-to-end delivery for the team's roadmap including scoping, prioritization, and execution
• Maintain operational excellence: incident response, on-call health, SLOs, and day-2 operations
• Provide career development, coaching, and performance feedback
• Hire, onboard, and retain engineers; participate in interview processes
• Lead a hybrid and fully remote team across multiple time zones with async-first practices
• Act as the senior onsite presence in Warsaw, supporting office logistics and onboarding
• Partner with Product Management to shape roadmap and translate priorities into engineering plans
• Surface risks, dependencies, and trade-offs early
• Use data-driven approaches to identify improvements and investments
• Collaborate with Customer Success and Solutions Engineering to unblock customers and prioritize roadmap

Hybrid role based in Warsaw with minimum 3 days per week onsite. Act as the senior Redpanda employee onsite with light-touch office coordination and onboarding responsibilities.
