Junior Python Data Platform Engineer

We are a team in Developer Observability operating as a distributed team across the US and Poland, focused on providing engineers tools and insights to improve decision-making and development workflows.

• 2+ years of hands-on software development experience with Python as a primary language.
• Good knowledge of Python fundamentals including data structures, functions, modules, classes, OOP, exceptions, and package management.
• Ability to write readable, maintainable, and reusable code.
• Experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and external integrations.
• Understanding of testing and debugging, including experience writing automated tests.
• Good understanding of Git and modern software development workflows.
• Good understanding of SQL and databases.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to break problems into manageable pieces.
• Strong learning mindset and willingness to work with new technologies.
• Ability to ask questions, seek feedback, learn from code reviews, and apply feedback.

• Design, build, and maintain Python applications, services, engineering tools, and data pipelines.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested Python code following software engineering best practices.
• Work with APIs, data processing, automation, and integrations to solve engineering problems.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues, improve existing code, and participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
• Work with technologies such as Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, AWS, CI/CD, and containerized environments.
• Use AI-assisted development and testing tools to improve coding, debugging, automation, and productivity.
