Junior Platform Software Engineer

• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of software engineering experience, or Master’s degree with 0 years experience, or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic knowledge of software engineering principles, data structures, APIs, distributed systems, testing, and modern software development.
• Experience or exposure to at least one programming language such as Python, Go, or Java.
• Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure, containers, APIs, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with Git-based workflows, automated testing, and code review practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in developing backend services, APIs, automation platforms, or distributed systems.
• Experience with Python, Go, Kubernetes, AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Terraform.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure lifecycle management and infrastructure-as-code.
• Experience with workflow orchestration, asynchronous processing, event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with REST APIs, authentication and authorization mechanisms, secure secrets management.
• Understanding of reliability engineering concepts: retries, idempotency, timeouts, failure domains, graceful degradation, observability.
• Experience troubleshooting distributed production systems using logs, metrics, and traces.
• Familiarity with production support, incident response, postmortems, and on-call practices.
• Ability to identify and replace manual procedures with safe, scalable automation.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering and operations teams.

• Develop and maintain services and automation capabilities for cloud operations and platform lifecycle.
• Partner with engineering, product, and operations teams to translate operational problems into automation solutions.
• Create and maintain technical design documentation, runbooks, API and workflow documentation.
• Debug and resolve software and automation issues in development and production environments.
• Participate in operational support, incident response, postmortems, and reliability improvements.
• Apply secure coding practices and develop reliable, observable, maintainable solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and testing for reliability, scalability, and performance.
• Develop expertise within Platform Orchestrator or Fleet Orchestrator components.
• Contribute to automation reducing manual operational work and improving consistency.
• Share knowledge with team and collaborate across teams for process improvements.
• Estimate assignments and communicate progress, risks, and dependencies.
• Participate in continuous process improvements including CI/CD pipelines and deployment safety.
