Software Engineer (Go + Cloud)

Splunk is focused on making machine data accessible, usable, and valuable to everyone. The role is within the App Runtime team, which builds tools for other developers in the Splunk ecosystem. The team creates building blocks and environments to empower engineers to build robust user-friendly development experiences.

• Experience in software engineering, including large-scale SaaS application development.
• Solid production experience with Go.
• Practical knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and container technologies.
• Good knowledge of operating system internals, preferably Linux.
• Comfortable tuning application performance and engineering for scalability.
• Understanding of software as part of a larger microservice architecture.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have:

• Python knowledge
• C++ knowledge
• Experience with AWS or Azure
• Experience with Terraform and Puppet
• Software security knowledge
• Understanding of computer networks
• Insight into gRPC protocol

• Design, implement, and deliver software according to requirements and system architecture.
• Maintain existing technology stack, debug and fix issues.
• Collaborate with product management, architects, and the team to build features, reusable components, and products.
• Create and enhance automated test suites and continuous integration processes.
• Integrate metrics and service level indicators into features for monitoring and scaling.
• Lead code reviews and apply customer experience knowledge to prevent future problems.
• Follow Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in Agile methodology.
