Technical Leader, Splunk Security

Cisco Professional Services is looking for a Security Consulting Engineering Technical Leader to join their Splunk Security practice in Poland. Splunk is a leading data platform used for security threat detection and automation. The role is based in Krakow, Poland and focuses on managing complex security platform issues across EMEA.

• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Electrical Engineering, or related field with 8+ years experience; Master’s with 5+ years; or PhD with 2+ years, or relevant work experience.
• Expert-level certification such as CCIE or CISSP; DevNet or automation certification is a plus.
• 7+ years in enterprise security consulting or professional services, with 3+ years as a technical or delivery lead.
• Expertise in Splunk Enterprise Security architecture, SIEM design, SOC operations, security automation, or threat detection.
• Proven track record building usable tools, playbooks, or frameworks.
• Experience collaborating with product and engineering teams to influence product direction.
• Strong scripting skills, especially in Python.
• Proficient with REST APIs and automation/workflow tools.
• Able to communicate complex technology to executives and persuade technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience applying AI-enabled solutions including AI-assisted CI/CD, API and automation integration with AI tools, and AI solution validation (output quality, benchmarking, drift monitoring).

Preferred qualifications:

• Splunk certifications (Architect, Cybersecurity Analyst, SOAR Developer).
• AI certifications such as AWS AI Practitioner, Azure AI App & Agent Developer, AWS ML Engineer - Associate.
• Security domain certifications like CEH, GIAC, CompTIA Security+.
• Experience with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, DevSecOps.
• Familiarity with AI/ML in security and platforms like Sentinel, QRadar, Palo Alto XSOAR.
• Language skills in Polish, German, French, Arabic, Spanish, or Dutch.

Technical Leadership:

• Oversee delivery of high-stakes programs.
• Define blueprints for SOAR frameworks and hybrid cloud environments.
• Advise senior leadership on long-term security strategy.

Building Knowledge:

• Create and share threat detection libraries, SOC blueprints, and deployment guides.

Security Engineering:

• Design advanced threat detection systems using MITRE ATT&CK and risk-based alerting.
• Build complex automation programs.
• Lead data onboarding and ensure alignment with PCI-DSS, ISO 27001, GDPR, NIST CSF, and SOX standards.

Coaching & Pre-Sales:

• Mentor junior security consultants.
• Lead pre-sales activities such as architecture workshops and RFP responses.
• Drive innovation incorporating AI and machine learning into security workflows.
