Technical Consulting Engineer

Cisco ThousandEyes provides a cloud platform for monitoring Internet, cloud, and SaaS platforms, focusing on improving digital experiences. The Customer Engineering team specializes in resolving performance monitoring challenges and providing deep technical expertise.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Over 5 years of experience in customer-facing technical support or engineering roles.
• Expert knowledge of network and application protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, BGP.
• Hands-on experience with Linux operating systems administration and tuning.
• Experience managing issues in cloud or SaaS environments, including container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker) and virtualization (KVM, VMware).

Preferred:

• Certifications like CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, or DevNet.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or JavaScript.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Ansible or Terraform.
• Effective communication of complex technical concepts.
• Understanding of security, authentication, and SSO protocols in enterprise settings.

• Serve as a primary technical point of contact for customers.
• Resolve complex technical issues involving network, application, and cloud environments.
• Lead collaboration with internal engineering teams for documentation and troubleshooting.
• Identify automation opportunities and contribute to the customer support forum.
• Participate in 24x7 support coverage to maintain high availability and responsiveness.
