Senior DevOps Engineer

The position is for a Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer in the banking/FinTech industry, working remotely with a team of 5 DevOps/Infrastructure Engineers. The project language is English with possible occasional business trips to Sweden. The assignment is a B2B contract with 12 months duration plus prolongations.

• Several years of experience operating business-critical AWS environments
• Experience in AWS cloud architecture maintenance and improvement
• Proficient with AWS EKS, Kubernetes, Docker, and container management
• Strong Linux administration and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code
• Ability to import and migrate manually created AWS resources into Infrastructure as Code
• Expertise in infrastructure automation and configuration management
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, preferably GitLab and/or Octopus Deploy
• Proficient in Bash and Python scripting
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Zabbix
• Experience with centralized logging and production troubleshooting
• Understanding of AWS networking, including VPCs, routing, load balancing, DNS, and connectivity
• Skilled in cloud and infrastructure security including IAM, roles, policies, and least-privilege access
• Experience in vulnerability management, patching, and security hardening
• Knowledge of backup, disaster recovery, availability, and platform reliability
• Ability to handle incidents and perform root cause analysis
• Awareness of cost optimization strategies for AWS environments

Nice to have:

• Experience with monitoring platforms beyond Grafana and Prometheus
• Background in incident handling and root cause analysis
• Deeper knowledge of AWS cost optimization strategies

• Work within a team of 5 DevOps / Infrastructure Engineers
• Ownership of AWS infrastructure, improving architecture and operational standards
• Automate manual processes and help move existing infrastructure toward Infrastructure as Code
• Improve stability, security, automation, observability, and cloud architecture across hybrid infrastructure
• Standardize, document, and automate existing infrastructure, including importing manually created resources into Infrastructure as Code
• Transition directly from architecture discussions into hands-on implementation with AWS, Linux, Kubernetes, or Terraform
• Challenge existing solutions and propose improvements for cloud architecture, security, reliability, automation, and operational efficiency
