Senior GCP Cloud Engineer

This role is for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to work for a client in the banking sector, focusing on enterprise cloud platforms within a Cloud Platform Team.

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proven experience implementing enterprise-scale landing zones across multiple cloud platforms.
• Expert-level proficiency in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices.
• Advanced experience with Ansible for configuration management and automation.
• Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
• Extensive experience with CI/CD tools, particularly Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Solid understanding of cloud networking and hybrid connectivity solutions.

Nice to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field, and/or a GCP Professional Cloud Architect certification.
• Experience with containerisation and observability technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, or the ELK Stack.
• Knowledge of security and compliance frameworks, ITIL or similar service-management practices, and Agile delivery methodologies.

• Design, build and maintain multi-cloud landing-zone infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and Bash.
• Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated testing for platform components using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
• Design and implement secure, scalable multi-cloud network architectures, including hybrid connectivity, VPCs, subnets, load balancing, and security controls.
• Establish cloud-governance standards and support cloud migrations ensuring AWS, GCP, and Azure environments meet security and compliance requirements.
• Lead P1/P2 incident-response activities, coordinate root-cause analysis, and continuously improve incident-management processes.
