Data Center Technician

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) delivers core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. The infrastructure includes more than 200 Data Centers in 32 countries supporting over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. The role is within a team focused on environmental sustainability and optimization in data center design and operations.

Required Qualifications:

• Completed High/Secondary School, GED, an apprenticeship/vocational qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and government security screening requirements, including passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Some experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
• Applicable certifications such as CompTIA A+, Server+, Network+; Basic Structure Cabling (BSC).
• A driving licence is beneficial.

• Contributes to issue tracking and seeks guidance from experienced technicians for timely resolution.
• Participates in daily safety briefings and completes required safety and role-related training.
• Completes assigned tickets efficiently aligned with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with guidance.
• Complies with security and data management procedures and completes required security training.
• Maintains client focus to understand the impact of tasks and tickets.
• Shares information with team, contributes to regular meetings, and stays updated on team work status.
• Takes ownership and accountability for service quality and completeness of data center facilities.
• Embodies Microsoft culture and values.
