Forward Deployed Engineer

Billennium is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to work at the intersection of technology, business, and problem-solving. The role involves directly partnering with clients to deliver scalable technology solutions leveraging software engineering, cloud, data, automation, and AI technologies. The position supports dynamic project environments and full ownership of solution lifecycle from concept to delivery.

• 3+ years of experience in software engineering, solution engineering, technical consulting, or customer-facing technical roles.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, or comparable languages.
• Experience designing and building backend services, APIs, integrations, automation workflows, or full-stack applications.
• Practical experience with databases, data models, and structured or unstructured data.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Understanding of modern software development practices including Git, CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and containerized deployments.
• Ability to solve ambiguous business problems with pragmatic, scalable technical solutions.
• Experience working closely with customers, business stakeholders, product owners, or end users.
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts.
• Strong ownership mindset and adaptability.

Nice to have:

• Experience deploying AI, Generative AI, LLM, machine learning, or intelligent automation.
• Familiarity with RAG architectures, vector databases, AI agents, model evaluation, and prompt engineering.
• Experience with data engineering, analytics platforms, pipelines, or MLOps.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Bicep, or CloudFormation.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and distributed systems.
• Background in consulting, professional services, proof-of-concepts, or enterprise digital transformation.
• Experience facilitating workshops, technical discovery, and executive-level solution presentations.

• Partner directly with clients to understand their business goals, workflows, technical landscape, and priorities.
• Lead discovery sessions and translate complex business challenges into actionable technical solutions.
• Design, prototype, build, and deploy production-grade applications using software engineering, cloud, data, automation, and AI.
• Integrate solutions across enterprise systems, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and third-party services.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, data specialists, product teams, and business stakeholders.
• Continuously improve deployed solutions through monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting, and user feedback.
• Capture reusable frameworks, implementation patterns, and best practices for future use.
