AI Lead

Łukasiewicz - Poznański Instytut Technologiczny is a multidisciplinary scientific research unit operating internationally, employing about 700 people. It consists of 4 research centers and over 70 unique research devices, making it the second largest Łukasiewicz institute in Poland. It is part of the Łukasiewicz Research Network, which emphasizes close cooperation between science and business with a focus on commercializing R&D work. The Łukasiewicz Research Network comprises over 7,500 employees and infrastructure including 440 laboratories and nearly 4,000 key R&D devices, ranking it as the third largest research network in Europe.

• Experience in AI/ML with understanding of technologies to serve as a partner to technical teams
• Experience in leading technology teams or holding leadership roles in complex AI/IT projects
• Experience cooperating with clients or business partners on technology solution creation and deployment
• Ability to shift discussions from technology to problem-solving, target groups, and building projects or services around them
• Experience managing complex technological projects with understanding of their business context
• Ability to communicate with both technical experts and client decision-makers
• Higher education, preferably technical, IT, or related field
• Proficient English communication in a professional environment
• Motivation to lead project delivery as well as team development and market presence

Nice to have:

• Experience in AI consulting, solution architecture, product development, or technology pre-sales cooperation
• Experience in technology commercialization and building products or services
• Knowledge of at least one area: LLM/GenAI, RAG, machine learning, computer vision
• Experience in research and development projects
• Experience with grant or nationally/European funded projects
• PhD degree, publication record, or scientific experience

• Lead and develop a team of specialists in LLM, RAG, machine learning, and computer vision
• Develop technological directions and AI portfolio
• Identify competencies, technologies, and R&D results suitable for commercial application
• Collaborate with clients to identify problems and needs where AI can add value
• Translate client needs into solution concepts and technological projects
• Initiate new commercial projects from concept and client discussions to implementation
• Cooperate with sales team in offer creation and acquiring new projects
• Develop relationships with clients and partners, exploring new applications for team competencies
• Oversee project portfolio, priorities, budgets, and team competencies utilization
• Develop R&D activities including participation in securing projects funded by national and European sources
