Data Tech Lead

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience with large-scale data platforms.
• Deep expertise in enterprise data platforms on Microsoft Azure, including Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
• Strong knowledge of modern data modeling, enterprise data integration, and DataOps practices.
• Proven experience in Agile/Scrum environments using Jira and Confluence; ability to lead senior teams with high autonomy.
• Excellent written and spoken English; ability to communicate technical solutions effectively to stakeholders.

Nice to have:

• Prior experience building enterprise-scale data platforms from scratch (0-to-1 build).
• Exposure to governance, cataloging, and orchestration tools such as Azure Purview, Synapse Analytics, or Delta Lake architectures.
• Background in sustainability, environmental operations, supply chain, or multi-vendor corporate data flow management.

• Act as primary technical lead, setting architectural standards and DataOps best practices.
• Design, build, and scale an Azure-native data platform using Microsoft Fabric, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, or Azure Purview.
• Review user stories for clarity and architectural alignment; oversee code quality with reviews and guidance.
• Establish CI/CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and DataOps practices.
• Provide daily technical direction and mentorship to data engineers; unblock engineering challenges.
• Collaborate with enterprise architects, product owners, and UK business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
