QA Automation Engineer

Verkada is a company located in Kraków that focuses on device and embedded systems performance and lifecycle at scale. The role involves collaboration with embedded, backend, hardware, and QA automation teams to improve test coverage and device reliability.

• 5+ years of experience in software QA, release engineering, or testing physical/embedded devices
• Experience designing test strategies and developing automated test cases focusing on regression and end-to-end testing
• Good knowledge of Python, CI/CD, Linux, networking, and databases
• Understanding of hardware/software interactions and troubleshooting physical devices
• Experience automating manual QA processes by developing and implementing proofs-of-concept
• Ability to identify, reproduce, investigate, and report issues found during automated testing or fleet monitoring
• Ability to work in Polish daily (minimum C1)
• Ability to commute to the Verkada office in Kraków every Thursday

Nice to Have:

• Experience with release validation and fleet health monitoring
• Experience with configuration and release management
• Experience with Grafana or similar telemetry visualization tools
• Familiarity with BDD methodology (Gherkin syntax)
• Experience with TeamCity and GitHub Actions
• Background in embedded systems, device telemetry, and HIL testing
• Basic understanding of electronics

• Develop tools to analyze fleet health, monitor devices after releases, create alerts, and manage device configurations in the field
• Work with large data volumes using tools like Querybook, Grafana, and AWS Athena
• Monitor telemetry data from devices in the field
• Analyze automated HIL regression test results and run automated tests on release builds
• Perform remaining manual checks as necessary
• Develop proofs-of-concept to automate manual tests and implement them into the regression suite
• Expand regression test coverage based on fleet health analysis and customer-reported bugs
