Senior IT Developer (Backend Developer)

Nordea is one of the largest Nordic banks, focused on evolving finance securely and responsibly. The role is part of Group Technology, supporting the Savings and Investment Product & Retail Order Management Technology Service Domain. The team develops Investment Funds trading systems integrated with external Trading Agencies partners.

• Good communication skills; fluent English is a must
• Strong proficiency in Java 21, Spring Boot, Spring, and Hibernate
• Experience with relational databases and SQL (PostgreSQL, Snowflake)
• Knowledge of messaging protocols such as Kafka, JMS, MQ
• Familiarity with OpenAPI and AsyncAPI for producing and consuming data
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines
• Understanding of software design patterns and object-oriented programming principles
• Knowledge of Airflow and Python is a plus

• Design, develop and maintain Java applications for savings and investments products
• Build robust calculation engines ensuring compliance with tax regulations across multiple countries
• Develop support for complex business processes, integrating with tax authorities, and generating customer-facing reports
• Participate in full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment
• Collaborate with financial analysts to translate requirements into technical solutions
