System Software Engineering Manager

Graphcore is a leading innovator in Artificial Intelligence compute, developing hardware, software and systems infrastructure to enable the next generation of AI breakthroughs. The company is part of the SoftBank Group and operates a diverse team including AI research specialists, silicon designers, software engineers, and systems architects. The role is based in Graphcore's Gdańsk office, within the Drivers and Utilities team, which builds custom host control software in Linux kernel and user space, including low-level C and C++ libraries and tools.

• Experience managing and developing software engineers through coaching, feedback, and career conversations.
• Practical experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar team facilitation role.
• Ability to help teams plan realistically, remove obstacles, and improve processes without adding unnecessary overhead.
• Experience working alongside Product Owners and technical leads with clear role boundaries.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills in English and Polish.
• Background in Linux kernel, device drivers, or low-level C and C++ software.

• Support engineers in career development, coaching individuals, and fostering clear team communication and collaboration.
• Act as Scrum Master for the Drivers and Utilities team, facilitating planning sessions and removing blockers.
• Help engineers turn priorities into achievable delivery plans and keep progress visible with the Product Owner and technical leads.
• Connect people across teams, disciplines, and locations to improve collaboration within the System Software group.
