Senior Platform DevOps Engineer

The company operates Innovation Centres across the United Kingdom and Build Centres across Eastern Europe.

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline
• 7+ years of experience in Cloud (AWS), Release Pipeline Management, Windows Server Administration, Linux Administration, Certificate Management, PowerShell scripting, Bash/Python scripting, Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (Ansible/Terraform), DNS, and Networking
• Enterprise-level Kubernetes experience
• Strong Linux administration skills
• Commitment to continuous improvement focusing on observability, modern application architectures, blue-green and canary deployments, and CI/CD pipeline management
• Ability to self-motivate and keep up with emerging technologies while meeting business deadlines
• Experience with Istio, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, MSK, New Relic

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with database concepts
• Working experience with at least one cloud provider (preferably AWS)
• Experience with Apache Kafka configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience with ELK configuration and troubleshooting
• Additional scripting skills (Bash, PowerShell, Python, Go)

• Initiate and drive adoption of best practices and technologies in development and operations
• Identify opportunities for automation
• Monitor and improve CI/CD processes for speed, safety, and reliability
• Implement and coordinate improvements with involved parties
• Develop and maintain GitLab CI pipeline libraries
• Assist developers with CI/CD setup and troubleshooting
• Stay current with industry tools and trends
• Provide senior-level recommendations for Windows, Linux, and Kubernetes hosting environments
• Mentor junior team members with technical guidance and learning recommendations
• Educate team and Application Development on platform usage and hosting
• Collaborate with Security team to remediate high-risk vulnerabilities
• Offer related services to group companies as directed by Line Manager
