Senior Azure Data Engineer | Remote

Core Products is one of the client's strategic platforms developing foundational services powering the Group’s digital products worldwide with nearly 100 professionals across Paris, Romania, and Mexico. The role sits at the intersection of Core Products and the Group Data Platform, focusing on delivering and maintaining data pipelines in an Azure and Databricks environment.

• At least eight years of professional experience in Data Engineering, including ownership of production-grade data pipelines.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Databricks (both compulsory).
• Advanced SQL and Python skills.
• Experience designing, building, and operating data pipelines and analytical data products.
• Good knowledge of modern data-platform and lakehouse principles, including medallion architecture and dimensional modelling.
• Proficiency in software-engineering and DataOps practices: version control, automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, monitoring, and incident management.
• Experience with SRE practices and continuous operational improvements.
• Strong communication skills and collaboration across Data, Architecture, Product, and Engineering teams.
• Data modelling skills with ability to develop a holistic view of data scopes and business objectives before implementation.
• Ability to work autonomously, make sound technical decisions, and document them clearly.

Strong plus:

• Experience with data governance, lineage, and access-control practices in Databricks, including Unity Catalog.
• Experience with payment or transaction data and distributed international teams.

• Design, build, test, and deploy scalable data pipelines for reporting and analytics use cases.
• Review, refactor, and stabilize existing reporting pipelines to improve reliability, performance, maintainability, and observability.
• Maintain new and existing pipelines to ensure reliable daily data delivery.
• Align pipelines with architecture, governance, security, and engineering standards of the Group Data Platform.
• Provide clear documentation, monitoring, and operational ownership for maintainability and handover.
• Work with Data professionals, Data Architects, Product Managers, and Engineering Managers to translate reporting needs into technical solutions.
• Contribute to onboarding Core Products data workloads onto the Group Data Platform.
• Ensure compliance with platform standards including data modelling, code quality, testing, CI/CD, documentation, security, and monitoring.
• Own the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices for data pipelines and products.
• Diagnose data incidents and pipeline failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Document data flows, dependencies, transformation logic, and operating procedures.
• Share knowledge and engineering practices with the Core Products data team to support long-term autonomy.
