• Proven experience building, maintaining, and scaling design systems with deep understanding of design system principles, component architecture, and token strategies.
• Strong product design fundamentals including visual hierarchy, typography, spacing, and interaction design.
• Strong command of Javascript, modern CSS (including TailwindCSS), and semantic HTML with ability to quickly become productive in unfamiliar stacks.
• Fluency in Figma including variables, component architecture, accurate design-to-code translation; experience with Plugin API or MCP.
• Advanced knowledge and practical experience with Storybook.js for component development, documentation, and testing.
• Excellent collaboration skills across design, engineering, and product disciplines to drive best practice adoption.
• Experience working with design tools like Figma, translating designs accurately into code.

• Develop, maintain, and evolve Aurora component kits: ReactKit, AstroKit, and AppKit, ensuring consistent component contracts across kits.
• Contribute to Aurora's visual and interaction language including component anatomy, variants, states, interaction behavior, and motion in Figma and code.
• Build internal design tooling such as Figma plugins, CLI utilities, CI checks, prototyping tools, and other AI-native workflows.
• Champion best practices and drive adoption of design automation, tooling (including Storybook), and testing strategies within design engineering.
• Guide, train, and support product development teams in adopting and utilizing the Aurora design system.
• Participate in design processes by providing technical input, prototyping interactions, and translating designs into polished, interactive UI components.
• Implement engaging animations and micro-interactions to enhance user experience.
• Build and maintain accessible components ensuring compliance with standards like WCAG AA.
• Own the technical implementation and architecture of design system components ensuring code quality, performance, and design fidelity.
