Technical Product Owner

Circle K Business Centre is a shared service center supporting Circle K Europe operations through Finance & Control, IT, Human Resources, Transport Fuel and Customer Service. Circle K is part of Alimentation Couche Tard Inc., operating approximately 12,300 sites across North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East. The development teams have implemented software solutions including web and native mobile applications and technical components for Circle K customers across Europe and North America.

• 4+ years experience as Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Business Analyst, Product Manager, or similar in software product/platform environment.
• Strong technical foundation: understanding OpenAPI/Swagger, REST/SOAP contracts, message-driven integrations, data models, system logs.
• Proven ability to write epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Understanding of POS systems, retail checkout flows, and in-store operation constraints.
• Experience with SCRUM teams and backlog tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Ability to prioritize under pressure and maintain coherent product direction.
• Analytical mindset with data validation habits.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Polish.

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience as developer, QA, integration, or support specialist.
• Prior experience with OmniPOS / CLOUD4RETAIL or other enterprise POS platforms.
• Practical payments domain experience including authorization, settlement, PSP or acquirer integrations.
• Experience with mobile wallets, in-app payments, fuel card, unattended payments.
• Experience with loyalty systems, promotion engines, self-checkout.
• Working knowledge of PCI DSS, PSD2/SCA, EMV certification, tokenization.
• Knowledge of fiscalization requirements in European markets.
• Familiarity with Azure cloud and edge computing architectures.
• Experience with international rollouts and vendor/co-development partner management.
• Product Owner or agile certifications (PSPO, CSPO, SAFe POPM) or equivalent experience.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Product ownership and backlog:

• Own, refine, and prioritize team backlog items including epics, features, user stories, spikes, and technical debt.
• Translate business needs from European markets into clear requirements with testable acceptance criteria.
• Partner with Solution Architects and senior developers on implementation details.
• Maintain and communicate product roadmap balancing functionality, market rollouts, compliance, and platform health.
• Define non-functional requirements with architecture and QA.
• Take responsibility for sprint goals, accept completed work, and make scope trade-offs.

Payments and retail domain:

• Drive requirements for card-present and card-not-present payment flows.
• Own backlog items for mobile payments, e-payments, tokenization, pay-at-pump, e-commerce, and click & collect.
• Collaborate with Product Managers, architects, vendors, and loyalty providers on integration and testing.
• Specify checkout, promotion, loyalty, and barcode handling behavior.
• Ensure security, compliance, and regulatory requirements are represented early.
• Support market pilots, rollouts, and defect triage.

Working with the team and stakeholders:

• Work daily with developers, QA, DevOps, architects, delivery manager, and scrum master in an agile environment.
• Participate in refinement, planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Represent the team to project reps, business owners, and other teams.
• Coordinate cross-team dependencies with integration platform and external partners.
• Define and track product metrics and use them to steer backlog.
• Contribute to release notes, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
