Senior Software Engineer - SRE

The role involves working on the Vault Platform team to ensure scalability and reliability of enterprise applications serving customers across North America, Europe, and Asia.

• 5+ years of experience in Java development, preferably in enterprise cloud software
• Hands-on operational experience in critical production environments, including incident management
• Ability to write clean, testable, and maintainable code in team settings
• Experience with open-source technologies such as Spring, MySQL, Hibernate, Solr, Maven, Git, Tomcat, Linux, AWS, Vagrant, Docker, and Kubernetes
• 3+ years of experience with relational databases and expert-level SQL skills
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Shell, Bash, Ansible, Python, Go, or Ruby
• Demonstrated leadership in incident management and effective communication across organizational levels
• Proven mentoring experience to improve team performance

• Build new cloud infrastructure rapidly, following software development best practices
• Ensure platform scalability and reliability for hundreds of global customers
• Lead incident triage and mitigation efforts, including on-call duties
• Develop tools and automation to reduce manual work and accelerate issue resolution
• Provide full-stack diagnostics and root cause analysis of production problems
• Strategize with engineering teams on scalable solutions supporting 2M+ users
• Participate in engineering design reviews and drive initiatives to improve operational efficiency
• Collaborate with Product Management, Design, and QA to deliver customer value
• Focus on backend development with opportunities in frontend and infrastructure
• Communicate clearly during outages to technical and non-technical audiences
• Mentor team members to foster a positive, high-performing environment
