Tech Lead Manager — Platform, Delivery & Reliability

Zadbano is a Polish logistics company undergoing a transformation towards a technology-platform model, employing seven engineers. The role is embedded in a technology-driven operating model and involves leadership in both people management and engineering delivery.

• Minimum 7 years of experience in software engineering and 3+ years in team leadership
• Hands-on approach: code reading, reviews, understanding architectural impact, and problem-solving from analysis to solution
• Proficiency with Node.js, TypeScript, React, Vue, PostgreSQL, Docker, and Kubernetes as dominant tech stack
• Advanced JIRA skills: backlog management, boards, dashboards, reporting, and team leadership in tool usage
• Expertise in AI-native engineering: daily use of AI tools such as code assistants, agents, and data/document analysis with demonstrated rollout to teams
• Experience maintaining and modernizing long-lived legacy systems without disrupting business
• Knowledge of practical security including DevSecOps, vulnerability/access management, backup/disaster recovery, and incident response
• Familiarity with modern delivery cycles including CI/CD, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), Kubernetes, Docker, and observability
• Modern leadership style: servant leadership, OKRs, Kanban/Scrum without dogma, metrics-driven management, and fostering high-performance culture
• Strong ability to interface between technology and business
• Fluent in Polish and English at working level

Nice to have:

• Experience in logistics domain (TMS/WMS), ERP and e-commerce integrations
• Experience transforming IT teams or departments
• FinOps knowledge including cloud and license cost awareness

• Lead a team of 6–9 engineers with responsibilities including 1:1 meetings, feedback, growth, and recruiting
• Organize work: decompose business needs into tasks, prioritize, manage queues and flow in JIRA
• Ensure predictable, complete delivery in two-week sprints adhering to strict Definition of Ready and Done
• Manage incident and problem handling, including root cause analysis and permanent resolution
• Provide technical authority through design and code reviews, mentoring, engineering decisions, and hands-on contribution
• Implement AI-native engineering practices using code assistants, agents, and automated ticket triage
• Oversee application and data security including DevSecOps, vulnerability/access management, backup/disaster recovery, incident response, GDPR compliance, and vendor oversight
• Steward long-lived in-house systems (TMS/WMS, e-commerce, integrations) through maintenance, refactoring, and gradual modernization without disrupting business continuity
• Provide recommendations for modernization, cloud adoption, and build vs buy decisions supported by operating cost analyses
