Tech Lead

Ascron is a company based in Warsaw, Poland, offering a role in the software development domain with a focus on technical leadership across development teams.

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Software Developer / Engineer.
• Experience preferably in .NET, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript with frameworks like React or Vue.js.
• Active programming capability including code review and joint problem solving.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, CI/CD, DevOps, and modern software development processes.
• Ability to be a technical sparring partner for Senior Developers.
• Experience in making or challenging architectural decisions.
• Ability to assess the validity of technical estimates and solutions.
• Understanding of business needs and ability to work directly with clients.
• Assertiveness to defend technical decisions with arguments.
• Ownership for quality and results beyond individual work segments.
• Interest in leveraging AI and automation in software development to increase team efficiency.

Nice to have:

• Experience as Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, or similar leadership role.
• Experience conducting one-on-one meetings, performance reviews, and developer growth.
• Experience working with multiple teams or projects simultaneously.

Technical Leadership & Hands-on:

• Serve as the technical reference point for several development teams.
• Participate as a "floating" consultant or developer in challenging projects and critical deployments.
• Take responsibility for the technical quality of delivered solutions.
• Challenge technical decisions and estimates, requiring justification.
• Ensure teams avoid shortcuts and unnecessary overengineering.
• Define and enforce technical standards and Definition of Done.
• Improve software development processes including CI/CD, DevOps, automation, and AI usage.
• Act as a key decision point for the toughest technical problems.
• Maintain technical consistency and integrations between teams.

Collaboration with Business and Architecture:

• Support Head of Delivery in evaluating team capacity and project timelines.
• Translate technical decisions into understandable language for clients and business.
• Participate in client discussions requiring strong technical support.
• Act as an ambassador for technological changes, even when facing resistance.

Team Development:

• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with developers.
• Participate in performance reviews.
• Diagnose skill gaps.
• Mentor and support technical growth.
• Build high standards of responsibility and work quality.

The recruitment process includes phone screening, technical interview focusing on decision-making and leadership, and meetings with Delivery and Technology leaders. The role is remote with occasional visits to the Warsaw office required.
