Senior Data Platform Engineer

Creditstar Group is an international fintech company headquartered in Tallinn, Estonia, operating across multiple European markets. They build data-driven financial products and are rapidly growing in the consumer finance sector.

• Strong hands-on experience running and improving a cloud data platform on AWS and Snowflake.
• Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, and cost management to set requirements and assess DevOps solutions.
• Practical experience with data governance, access control, and PII management.
• Experience in regulated sectors such as finance, banking, or AML/KYC.
• Strong communication skills to work with technical and business stakeholders.

• Entrepreneurial mindset suited for a fast-scaling environment.
• Fluent spoken and written English.

Nice to have:

• Experience with cloud cost optimization and FinOps practices.
• Familiarity with modern table formats like Apache Iceberg and Delta Lake.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• Own and continuously improve Creditstar's data platform on AWS and Snowflake for reliability, performance, and scalability.
• Strengthen platform performance, security, secrets management, and observability across the data stack.
• Manage platform cost efficiency, including Snowflake and AWS spending, leading FinOps practices within the data team.
• Advance data governance with clear data ownership, access and PII controls, data lineage, and audit readiness compliant with GDPR.
• Define and uphold engineering standards for testing, versioning, code reviews, CI/CD, and Git-based workflows.
• Own integration layer connecting internal and third-party data sources.
• Lead incident response for the data platform to resolve issues with durable fixes.
• Collaborate with DevOps on infrastructure requirements and solution review.
• Support BI Engineers, Analysts, and Data Scientists with a well-governed, documented self-serve platform.
