DevOps Engineer

Pixaera builds immersive and AI-generated health & safety training used by industrial workforces in mining, oil & gas, energy and data centres. Their platform trains thousands of people daily for enterprise customers across Europe and the Middle East. The company has a small, senior, remote-first engineering team and is establishing an engineering presence in Amman.

• 3–6 years of experience in DevOps, platform, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS including building and operating production infrastructure.
• Proficient with Terraform modules, state management, code review, and recovery.
• Experience managing Kubernetes in production with debugging skills.
• CI/CD pipeline ownership experience, ideally with GitHub Actions.
• Confident scripting in Python, Go, or Bash for automation.
• Monitoring and incident response experience with alerting and runbook discipline.
• Comfortable owning problems independently and asking for help when needed.
• Strong written English skills for asynchronous and documentation work.

Nice to have:

• Experience with ArgoCD, Helm, or GitOps workflows.
• Proven results in cloud cost optimization.
• Experience with Windows build agents or game/graphics build pipelines like Unreal or Perforce.
• Knowledge of GPU workloads and render infrastructure.
• Familiarity with SOC 2 / ISO 27001 support, penetration test coordination, or compliance automation tools such as Vanta.
• Experience using Datadog.

• Own full-stack infrastructure including cloud, CI/CD, monitoring, security, and developer experience.
• Make infrastructure decisions independently and drive platform modernization.
• Set and track SLOs such as uptime, deploy frequency, and recovery time.
• Own incident response and build runbooks and sustainable on-call practices.
• Design reusable, versioned CI/CD workflows and manage self-hosted runner fleets as code.
• Scale long-running render or batch workloads from design to production.
• Implement cloud cost strategies including tagging, right-sizing, spot and reserved capacity.
• Ensure security and compliance including secrets management, least-privilege access, patching, and support enterprise security reviews.

Working day should overlap UK hours; English is the working language. Compensation is competitive and benchmarked to the Amman market.
