Senior Python Data Scraping Engineer (Freelance)

Mindrift connects specialists with innovative technology projects to help develop high-quality AI technologies, combining real-world expertise with advanced AI development efforts. The role is for the Tendem project focused on data scraping workflows for real-world applications.

• At least 5+ years of experience in data engineering, web scraping, automation, or software development.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related fields is a plus.
• Strong experience in Python web scraping using tools like BeautifulSoup, Selenium, handling dynamic content (JS, AJAX, infinite scroll) and APIs via proxies.
• Proven ability to extract data from complex structures including hierarchies and inconsistent HTML.
• Solid background in data cleaning, normalization, validation, and delivering structured datasets (CSV, JSON, Google Sheets).
• Experience handling anti-bot mechanisms and dynamic site structures at scale.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS and containerization with Docker.
• Hands-on with LLM frameworks like LangChain, OpenRouter for automation tasks.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Self-directed work ethic and independent troubleshooting capabilities.
• English proficiency at Upper-intermediate (B2) level or above.

• Own end-to-end data extraction workflows across complex websites, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and reliable delivery of structured datasets.
• Use available tools and custom workflows to accelerate data collection, validation, and task execution.
• Adapt extraction approaches to handle dynamic and interactive web sources, including JavaScript-rendered content.
• Enforce data quality through validation checks, cross-source consistency, and formatting adherence.
• Scale scraping operations efficiently, monitor failures, and maintain stability against site changes.
