Senior Python Developer

The company is a Rotterdam-based energy startup working on a greenfield MVP: an area calculation tool for modeling energy usage, grid congestion, storage needs, and business cases for local energy communities.

• Over 6 years of experience with Python programming
• Proven experience with pandas and time series analysis
• Experience with web application frameworks like Streamlit or Dash
• Background in cloud computing
• Ability to work autonomously in a startup environment
• Familiarity with optimization, simulation tools, and geospatial data
• Knowledge of GDPR and consent handling related to personal data
• Experience in energy, utilities, smart meter, battery, or grid sectors is a significant plus

Nice to have:

• Experience with optimization frameworks: PuLP, Pyomo, OR-Tools
• Proficiency in GeoPandas for geodata management

• Develop and maintain backend systems, APIs, and data pipelines in Python
• Work with time series data, including processing 15-minute interval datasets
• Build functional web applications using frameworks like Streamlit or Dash
• Collaborate closely with a technical product owner experienced in the energy sector
• Utilize cloud technologies as determined during development
• Independently manage projects from architecture to go-live
• Implement optimization or simulation models where relevant
• Handle geospatial data visualization and ensure GDPR compliance

The position is fully remote from Poland, with possibilities for travel to Rotterdam during project kickoff. Engagement starts on or before 12 October 2026 and lasts until 31 December 2026, with possibilities for extension.
