Oracle Licensing Consultant (Tuxedo & SALT)

• Experience in Oracle Licensing or Software Asset Management (SAM).
• Knowledge of Oracle product licensing principles.
• Experience analyzing licensing terms and interpreting contract clauses.
• Practical knowledge of Oracle Middleware, specifically Oracle Tuxedo and Oracle SALT.
• Experience analyzing High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and Active–Passive architectures.
• Knowledge of the impact of virtual infrastructure (VMware, vCenter, vMotion) on Oracle licensing models.
• Ability to translate technical architecture into licensing requirements and license quantity calculations.
• Experience preparing optimization variants with risk assessment and implementation conditions.

Nice to have:

• Experience in Oracle licensing cost optimization projects.
• Knowledge of environments with geographically distributed data centers and data replication.
• Experience analyzing server infrastructure, storage, and replication mechanisms.
• Experience conducting technical and licensing workshops with clients.
• Experience as Oracle Tuxedo Architect, Infrastructure Architect, or collaboration with such roles.

• Conducting project kick-off and technical-licensing workshops with the client team.
• Analyzing COO/ZCOO environment architecture including Active–Passive models, HA/DR, and failover mechanisms.
• Identifying Oracle Tuxedo and Oracle SALT installation and runtime locations.
• Analyzing virtual machines, physical hosts, CPU/core counts, clusters, and VM migration possibilities.
• Verifying the impact of VMware, vCenter, and vMotion on Oracle license requirements.
• Analyzing owned Oracle license rights and metrics.
• Interpreting licensing rules for failover, Disaster Recovery, and Active–Passive environments per contracts.
• Preparing architectural and licensing optimization variants and calculating Oracle license needs.
• Identifying opportunities to reduce licensing footprint and optimize costs.
• Developing a final report including current state analysis, optimization variants, risks, and recommendations.
• Presenting analysis results and participating in Q&A sessions with the client.
