Software Development Engineer II, Global Money Movement

Remitly is a company focused on providing secure, simple, and reliable ways for customers to send money globally. The Global Money Movement team builds and maintains the platform used to move money between customers and recipients internationally through a network of external banking and payment partners. The company has over 2,800 employees worldwide and operates a hybrid workplace in Kraków.

• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of professional software development experience
• Proficiency in general-purpose languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Golang
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
• Proficiency in relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server
• Understanding of software development practices and system design
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS
• Comfort using AI tools across the development lifecycle
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent English at B2 level or higher

• Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services and APIs
• Integrate with external banking and payment partners and maintain production health
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams across time zones to identify and prioritize project requirements
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including design documents, technical specifications, and testing plans
• Participate in code reviews adhering to coding standards and best practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in interviewing
• Support the Money Movement global team via a rotating on-call schedule
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements

The position requires onsite presence Tuesday through Thursday each week with two remote days as part of a hybrid work schedule. Additional onsite attendance may be required based on business needs.
