Lead / Senior Java Developer

FM Digital Channels is a global team supporting the bank's Financial Markets business. Solar is the bank’s strategic, in-house built pricing, execution, and trade processing platform. The team is international, open, intellectual, and focused on delivering technology solutions to a global financial market domain.

• Versatile Java developer with good software design principles.
• 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Expert in Core Java, Spring Framework, RX Java, REST, and Reactive Web Services.
• Experienced in micro-services and container technologies such as Kubernetes, OpenShift, Helm, and Docker.
• Familiar with CI/CD pipelines, e.g., Azure DevOps.
• Experience with SQL databases and distributed data stores like Oracle and Hazelcast.
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka and Solace.
• Strong knowledge of design patterns and best practices.
• Ability to design solutions for complex or ambiguous business problems requiring architecture changes.
• Skilled in writing efficient, clear, and well-tested code.
• Experienced in building complex, real-time (event-driven), distributed systems.
• Optimized performance of latency sensitive systems.

Preferred skills:

• Financial Market domain knowledge, preferably investment banking.

Soft skills:

• Good team player capable of autonomous delivery.
• Effective English communication skills.
• Experienced in driving requirements and development efforts.
• Experienced in end-to-end design, development, and support of complex systems.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent (STEM preferred).

• Design solutions and evaluate technology.
• Break down large projects into incremental deliveries.
• Build opinionated core libraries and scalable core platform services.
• Build robust services for business tools such as sales-trader workflow, blotters, trader tools, analytics, and controls.
• Build automated tests to enable continuous delivery.
• Support services you build and their users.
• Collaborate with engineers, business analysts, project managers, and business stakeholders across multiple locations.
